Hertsmere Community Lottery March Edition

29 February 2024

March is here already! Days are staying brighter for longer, and the weather (is supposedly) warming up.

Let’s dive right into this month’s round-up of all things lottery!

Monday the 4th of March is National Old Stuff Day. Have you got a bag full of stuff sitting in your home that you’ve been meaning to drop off at your local charity? Why not see if any of it can be donated to our Good Causes Borehamwood Foodbank, Gratitude or Sebby’s Corner? Be sure to get in touch with them first and see if there is anything in particular they need!

International Women’s Day (held on the 8th of March), falls on a Friday this year and the campaign theme is to ‘Inspire Inclusion’. You can participate in the cause by striking the #InspireInclusion pose, which you can spot in this month’s infographic.

Can anyone play the bagpipes? If so, you could play a song for your mother, as Mothering Sunday and International Bagpipe Day fall on the same day this year – Sunday 10th March.

Monday 18th is Global Recycling Day! What does your Good Cause currently do to help reduce the amount of waste reaching landfills?

Thursday 21st March is World Down Syndrome Day, aimed at raising awareness, and this year the focus is ‘End the Stereotypes’. You can find out more here and you can support our Good Cause Nice 2 Meet Ya, by purchasing a ticket on the community lottery here.

We end the month on Sunday 31st of March, which is also Easter Sunday. To those celebrating, Happy Easter!

A new segment making its way onto the Hertsmere Community Lottery Roundup this month is called ‘Birthday Bonus Shout Out’. Here, we will be highlighting any Good Cause birthdays on the lottery!

We’re starting with a busy month, with four birthdays happening in March!

Both Potters Bar Crusaders Sports and Social Club and Friends of Monksmead Parent Association celebrate their second birthday on the lottery on the 1st of March! Friends of St Teresa's Catholic Primary School celebrates two years on the lottery on March 22nd and  Potters Bar Cycling Club also celebrates two years on the 29th of March.

Forgot to get them a present? No worries, you could buy a lottery ticket supporting their Good Cause!

This month’s Super Draw is a £1,000 Sainsbury’s Voucher!

You could stock up on your wardrobe for spring with Tu, freshen up your home with Habitat homeware, or just save some money on your groceries. Whatever you decide you would spend the money on, you need to have a ticket to have a chance of winning, so make sure you sign up here before Saturday 30th March!

We will see you again next month in April for the next Hertsmere Community Lottery Roundup!
